SKI DAY # 3

We were up early and had the second chair up, getting George broken in. The lift you see in the background is about 6 foot straight down when you get out of the chair, this is really the first noticeable sign of how little snow they have had this year. George and myself almost broke something when we got off we were so surprised.

Here's George, running off and leaving me again, looks like he's showing off and skiing backwards--some hotshot.

First bathroom / coffee break of the day, notice the lack of folks. There have been no lift lines, no folks on the slopes so plenty of ski time.

George is trying to sneak in a short nap, says I am pushing to hard, needs more rest.

Caught me with my mouth full. I just found out that our lift tickets are good for tonight--we can ski until 2130 (930pm civilian time). George says mo way will his legs hold up, that I will have to get Tink to ski tonight. We will see.

THE CONTRACTORS ARE REMODELING GEORGE'S HOME WHILE HE IS OUT SKIING, SO WE ARE CHECKING OUT ALL THE SUPPORT BEAMS IN EVERY BUILDING WE ENTER. Wonder if my wife would let me go ski with the construction crews working and a wedding on 3 March. George really trust his wife with the remodeling--what a gal!

SKI ALL DAY--EVERY Day!!

Lunch with Tink, Park City now has enough money to bail Europe out of money problems. I thought I was buying the whole cow for what they charged for a hamburger-and not a single kiss.

George is getting bashful, Please no more pictures.

Park City has great lifts, most are high speed 6 packs, and they check your pass electronically, really speeds things up.

One of our favorite runs, I think its called the " Widow Maker"

Ski racks at the lodge are visual proof on no skiers.

Rest day tomorrow, weatherman says 8 inches of snow on the way buttttttttt he said snow today and we had sunshine all day, So far no takers on night skiing, maybe later.

Tink went out and saw the HGTV home to be given away late Feb, he was not impressed.

Check back tomorrow for sights about town, THINK SNOW!!

Ski Day # 2

Tuesday, early morning, suppose to snow today but sun is shinning and it looks to be a great day. Once again we arrived early and George is still complaining--could have gotten a bit more rest but early folks get fresh powder.

George is growing a full beard can't tell yet but it should be out by next week,

Early morning is my time of day, good looking guy. Love it when there are no lift lines.

We are not first in line today, these old guys got in front, but the lifts have not opened yet
.

Lift is right on the square, so not very far to walk, once we pick up George's skis.

Check it out, we have been very fortunate, there have been very few folks on the mountain, no one to see us fall or to get in our way,

George is ready to go!

Great snow, snowed for a while about 1000, now sun is shinning.

This is one of the most crowed areas/ lifts and no lines here.

George looks forward to break time, we stop about 110 for a coffee then again about 1430, no lunch things are very expensive on the mountain, beside I am trying to keep my boyish figure.

Larry's boyish figure seems to have gone away. Its just that I have so many clothes on!

Park City must be going broke from lack of visitors. More seniors than other skiers.

After a hard days skiing we get home and Tink is reading a book and watching TV, no hoe-dove-ers on anything. We may have to have a word with this boy.

All is forgiven, Tink has gone shopping today and is fixing supper--only room for one in this kitchen.

The chef has spoken, chicken cordon blue and a green salad, we may keep this guy after all.

Another great day, 4 inches of snow in the forecast for tonight, and we are having dinner by the fireplace, only thing that could make it better would be if the wives were here. (What were their names?)

Check back tomorrow !

First Ski Day

I told George that if we arrived early there would be no crowd, We were there to stand in line before the lift opened. We were in the first chair to go up. EARLY BIRD GETS THE FIRST RUN!

SEE NO CROWD! We had to stand and wait 15 minutes for the lift to open--but we were first.

GEORGE WAS NOT IMPRESSED THAT WE WERE EARLY FOR THE LIFT. kEPT MUTTERING SOMETNING ABOUT GETTING MORE SLEEP! tHESE BOYS HAVE TO LEARN-LIFT TICKETS ARE EXPENSIVE --BUT IF YOU DEVIDE THE TIME FROM THE OPENING TO THE CLOSE INTO THE PRICE OF THE LIFT TIXCKET IT GETS MORE REASONABLE--GEORGE WAS NOT IMPRESSED!

High temp today was about 30 with mostly sunshine but the slopes were not crowed, no lift lines and few folks to get in your way on the slopes.

Snow was great, God's creation was beautiful--an't skiing great??

Bill met us at the bottom of Town Lift and we had lunch-chilly stayed with me the rest of the afternoon. Bottom of my ski boot has started comming off-- can't have anything to do with the age of the boots (about 15 years old).

Bill met us at the end of the day--but had not cooked dinner- we may have to fire that boy.

After a long day on the slopes, Whittington gets read for the hot tub- I forgot to bring any bedroon shoes or flip flops. Great looking shorts, I may be the hit of the hot tub!

Another day on the slopes-the worse day skiing is better than the best day at work. Bill and myself would not know we are retired BUT GEORGE IS STILL WORKING-he won't carry his cell phone for fear someone will call him about work.

Check back tomorrow- we plan to ski Deer Valley one day and it's supp0se to snow Tuesday.

Sat 28 Jan 2012 Arrival

Early mor4ning sun over the mountains . Looks like lots of snow so we should be prime for the week. Headed to the airport to get George and Tink,

The sun rise is much later here, this was taken about 0730. We are in the middle of the Mountain time zonw.

Looks like we will need our rock skis for this hill, lots of spots not covered with snow. Got lost and went 50 mmiles out of the wAY, BUT SAW LOTS OF GOD'S BEAUTIFUL CREATION.

First thing wse had to do was feed Tink and George. They claim the airline would not feed them. We stopped on the way to Park City and had a late lunch.

This is the view from our condo. n We are about 150 yards from the Park City Plaza so we can walk to the lifts. Not sure why the folks on the hill did not invite us up for dinner.

Not our place but we are satified that I got another nice place. BR has 2 queen beds we have a murphy bed and pull out sofa in th living room and two full baths. We voted to puty Tink on the murphy bed because of his snoring.

This is the sitting / living room with gas fireplace, full kitchen in the back.

George unpacks. We went up and rented George's skis and bought our lift tickets for the week. Plan to ski Park City 4 days and Dear Valley and The Canyons each a day, should be a full week.

Ski pictures tomorrow. Check back. High today 31, low tonight 8, tomorrow 34. Think Snow!
